Generator rotor winding inter-turn short circuit is a common fault in power system. When this kind of fault occurs, the rotor current increases and the winding temperature increases, which limits the output of the generator and affects the normal operation of the generator in severe cases. Inter-turn short circuit is usually determined by measuring the AC impedance and power loss of the generator rotor winding.
